An Agonizing Wait For A Stem Cell Transplant

Laura Hillier talks about the difficulty of having to wait for a stem cell transplant.

Advances in medical science have led to an increased demand for stem cell transplants, leaving patients facing lengthy wait times and more chemotherapy.  Dr Ralph Meyer, regional vice-president of Cancer Care Ontario adds “improved technology has also made the transplant procedure safer for older patients.”

Terry Received A Dire Prognosis. Adult Stem Cells Saved His Life.

Terry Killman was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia.  He received a dire prognosis from his Oncologist.  An adult stem cell transplant from Terry’s brother, Vic saved his life.
