Adult Stem Cell Study For Multiple Sclerosis Patients

In this video Dr Mark Freeman outlines an up and coming adult stem cell study for Multiple Sclerosis patients.

The study will use mesenchymal stem cells (an adult stem cell that comes from the bone marrow).  The study is being carried out in Canada at two sites, and is being led by Dr. Mark S. Freedman (Ottawa Hospital Research Institute / University of Ottawa) and Dr. James J. Marriott (University of Manitoba) and colleagues.

Ron McGill suffers from relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis. He started experiencing symptoms in 2009 but was not diagnosed with MS until January of 2013.  He received stem cell therapy at the end of 2013.
