This week researchers at UCLA announced they have cured 18 children who were born with Bubble Baby disease, a genetic disorder that leaves the young sufferers without a working immune system, putting them at risk of death from infections, even the common cold.  The remarkable cure used each child’s own stem cells to get their immune system back in fine working order.
